Climbing in Austurias

Recently I started rock-climbing, and I LOVE it! I almost don't want to travel just so I can rock-climb more. So when I had the option to go on a trip and rock-climb I couldn't pass it up. We went to Austurias, an enchanting region in the north of Spain that is actually quite similar to Galicia (the region I currently live in) except the fact that the mountains are more "modern" as Diego put it. So for Semana Santa (spring break) we rented a house in Quiros and rock-climbed. It was a wonderful trip: I got to travel, spend ample time in nature, rock-climb and of course practice my Spanish! However I will continue to write this post in English. Thanks to these guys below I was learning a million new words a day like largato, buitre, bruma, and the best, peliagudo! (lizard, vulture, mist and difficult) Upon arrival everything seemed perfect but there was one tiny stop-up. I had no rock-climbing shoes of my own and Andre was so kind to lend me one of his pairs. The only problem was only after arriving in Asturias did we realize that we brought two left shoes to Asturias and left the right ones in Vigo. But hey if that is the worst thing to happen no complaints, ok maybe the worst thing was falling kinda far while climbing, but still no complaints. I did my first climb in one rock-climbing shoe and one tennis-shoe. I felt like the Cinderella of rock-climbing. I just ended up borrowing other shoes for the rest of the trip and it was all good.  I had a wonderful time and I look forward to the next adventure.

So these are the wonderful people I passed this trip with  (Me, Jorge, David, Beiro, otro David, Fabi, Andre, Diego, and the dog is Sasha)

Beaurtiful Teverga, a look-out point just before Quiros

Our Mascot. She reminds me a lot of Lola (my old dog), but she doesn't like me that much.

On our way to climb, what a greaaat view!

David's but, jeje

Look at that pro-climber! (It's me)

Beiro looks like a ballerina in this photo

Goatsss :) just grazing on a field in-between the house we stayed in and the climbing spots

The view from the house we stayed in! Just makes you want to climb.
